What is Home Watch?

“Home Watch is a visual inspection of a home or property looking for obvious issues”

Leaving your home to go on vacation shouldn’t be stressful. Let Vermont Home Watch be your eyes and ears to help protect your long-term investment when your home is unoccupied. We’ll visit your home on a scheduled basis, based on your needs, to conduct a multi-point visual inspection looking for obvious issues. Then, we’ll email you a detailed Home Watch report and follow up on any issues that need to be addressed. A professional, certified Home Watch company knows what to look for and will perform a walkthrough designed to protect your home.

As fellow residents of Chittenden County, we’ll watch over your home as if it’s our own. When your home is unoccupied, extensive and expensive damage can occur in a short amount of time. Unfortunately, an unoccupied home is a vulnerable home. Having your home visited regularly by a properly trained and insured Home Watcher who follows the best practices and procedures of the National Home Watch Association (NHWA) will help to limit your exposure to undiscovered damage. A home may be unoccupied for a variety of reasons. You may have a cherished family retreat that you visit occasionally, or you may be away on business or are a seasonal or part-time resident. Perhaps your home is being used as a short term rental, or is vacant waiting to sell or part of an estate waiting to settle. We are a service provider with a clear goal in mind: to watch over your home anytime it’s vacant, and to maintain your home’s comfort and investment value.

“Some homeowners insurance policies require that your home be checked on when the home is unoccupied for some length of time.”

Vermont Home Watch is an accredited member of the National Home Watch Association (NHWA) and is certified, licensed, bonded, and insured. As a member of the NHWA, we adhere to the highest standards and code of ethics in the Home Watch industry. We service all of Chittenden County, plus Waterbury. Vermont Home Watch is owned by Charlie Posnick and Kim Barone, both long-time Chittenden County residents. Prioritizing clients’ needs has been part of Kim & Charlie’s entire professional careers.

In 2020, Charlie and Kim built a farmhouse on 10 acres in Jericho. They enjoy maintaining their home and property so much that they decided to start a business doing the same for others and will take great pride in watching over your home.
